This important and significant project received an approval by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Aeronautical expedition of Fedor Konyukhov takes place with the help of Russian Geographical Society (RGS) and it’s Vice-President Artur Chilingarov, Vladimir Putin is the Chairman of RGS Board of Trustees and the russian Minister of Defence Sergey Shoygu is the President of the Society.

The flight route: Australia – the Tasman Sea – New Zealand – the Pacific Ocean – South America (Chili and Argentina) – the Falkland Islands – the Atlantic Ocean – Africa (RSA, Cape of Good Hope) – the Indian Ocean – and Australia is finale.

Fedor Konyukhov is planning to beat the results of 1999 and 2002 and try to fly round the Globe much faster than Steven Fossett. During 13 years since the flight of Steven Fossett, the technologies, materials and support systems had been increasingly changed and improved, so that Fedor hopes they will help him to win.

To complete such a long distance flight is possible by using two level balloon construction, which allows to use the combination of helium and solar power, while to fly non-stop around the world by a balloon with only hot air is impossible.
